The Intelligent Community Forum (ICF) is a leading New York think-tank which promotes the innovative use of broadband and wireless for economic development. It has risen to global prominence for The Intelligent Community Awards, an annual event where it recognises the world's most Intelligent Communities and their public-sector and private-sector partners who contribute to the success of broadband economy in these communities.

Participant profile:

An international delegation comprising elected and administrative officials including Councillors and Mayors and executives of organizations that see opportunities rising from the broadband economy

Learning objective:

To experience first-hand how the governments of four of Asia's smartest cities have incentivized the private sector and enabled citizenry to prosper in the broadband economy and to facilitate understanding on what learnings can be adapted by other communities, governments and business to achieve similar success.

The Lab:

A ten-day program going to Gangnam, Seoul; Tianjin, China; Mitaka, Japan; and Taipei, Taiwan - four of Asia's smartest cities, all of whom have been nominated (if not awarded) for the Intelligent Community Awards within the last three years.
